The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter (softened)

  • 150 g (3/4 cup) granulated sugar

  • 217 g (1 cup) light brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • 1 egg

  • 2 egg yolks

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 383 g (2.5 cups) all-purpose flour

  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate (chopped)

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Recipe:

  1. Brown 1 stick of butter in a saucepan & let chill 15 minutes in the fridge

  2. Combine browned butter, 1 stick of softened butter, and both sugars in a stand mixer until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes)

  3. Add in vanilla extracts & egg until incorporated. Then add each yolk one at a time, beating well after each addition

  4. Mix baking powder, soda, salt, and flour in a separate bowl.

  5. Add dry ingredients to the dough and pulse the mixer until combined (do not over-mix)

  6. Refrigerate the dough for 2 hours (up to overnight)

  7. Preheat oven to 350ºF

  8. Scoop cookies into 2.5 oz balls & bake for 15-17 minutes until lightly browned

  9. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top & let cool for 10 minutes.

  10. Plate and enjoy 😊
