The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
2 sticks of unsalted butter (softened)
150 g (3/4 cup) granulated sugar
217 g (1 cup) light brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 egg
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
383 g (2.5 cups) all-purpose flour
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate (chopped)
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Recipe:
Brown 1 stick of butter in a saucepan & let chill 15 minutes in the fridge
Combine browned butter, 1 stick of softened butter, and both sugars in a stand mixer until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes)
Add in vanilla extracts & egg until incorporated. Then add each yolk one at a time, beating well after each addition
Mix baking powder, soda, salt, and flour in a separate bowl.
Add dry ingredients to the dough and pulse the mixer until combined (do not over-mix)
Refrigerate the dough for 2 hours (up to overnight)
Preheat oven to 350ºF
Scoop cookies into 2.5 oz balls & bake for 15-17 minutes until lightly browned
Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top & let cool for 10 minutes.
