My Favorite Broccoli

Ingredients:

  • 2 heads of broccoli, cut into florets

  • Olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, sliced

  • Salt, pepper, red pepper flakes

  • 1 lemon

Recipe:

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.

  2. Drop broccoli in and cook for 60-90 seconds (depending on how tender you like your broccoli).

  3. Drain broccoli and wash with cold water to stop the cooking process.

  4. Heat 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil in the same pot you cooked the broccoli in.

  5. Add finely sliced garlic and red pepper flakes (to taste). Cook until the garlic is slightly browned and oil mixture has a red hue from the flakes.

  6. Add broccoli back in and coat in seasonings/oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Since the broccoli was cooked in salted water, you can go lighter on the salt than you may think.

  7. Top with some fresh lemon juice & flaky sea salt.

  8. Plate and enjoy 😊
