Matzo Crack

Ingredients:

  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter

  • 1 cup light brown sugar

  • Matzo (about 4-5 standard sheets)

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • Toppings of choice

    • Ideas: drizzled white chocolate, toffee bits, sprinkles, flaky sea salt, melty peanut butter, etc.

Recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF and line a 12x17 baking sheet with parchment paper and spray with non-stick spray

  2. Line baking sheet with 1 layer of matzo (breaking sheets as necessary)

  3. Melt down butter and brown sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stir until a golden caramel forms (2-4 minutes)

  4. Pour brown sugar mixture over the matzos & bake for 7 minutes

  5. Remove from the oven and spread chocolate chips evenly over the caramel. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes

  6. Spread chocolate with an offset spatula, top with desired treats

  7. Set in the freezer for 20 minutes (or until chocolate has solidified)

  8. Break into pieces (or keep whole!)

  9. Plate and enjoy 😊
